FIPS 201 TWIC® Compliance - FIPSlink
Identity One’s HSPD-12 / FIPS 201 solution includes registration, verification and certificate revocation features that extends existing PACS for TWIC® compliance.
FIPSlink includes the following elements:
- Registration & Verification
- Certificate Validity & Revocation Authority
- Physical Access Control System (PACS) Service
- Fingerprint Reader Connector
- PIN Reader Connector
- Card Reader Connector
- Import\Export Connector
- Mobile Variant
Registration & Verification
The Registration & Verification process of the HSPD-12 / FIPS 201 solution gathers details from FIPS 201 compliant card to validate against while also ensuring the card certificate is valid and not revoked. The registration process includes a full three factor verification. Upon verification and depending on the associated PACS provider, a cardholder is then either automatically created in the PACS, or linked to an existing cardholder in the PACS.
Certificate Validity & Revocation Authority
Certificate Validity & Revocation Authority validates known card certificates and manages disabling access for revoked certificates. Under this process should a FIPS 201 card become invalid, the associated PACS cardholder will be automatically disabled in the PACS.
Physical Access Control System (PACS) Service
The PACS Service module included as part of our HSPD-12 / FIPS 201 solution interfaces with one instance of a physical access control system for cardholder credential and access rights exchange.
Fingerprint Reader Connector
The Fingerprint Reader Connector module interfaces with our HSPD-12 / FIPS 201 solution to provide certificate validation and contactless ANSI378 template decryption. This module operates on Windows client and server operating systems.
PIN Reader Connector
The PIN Reader Connector module interfaces with our HSPD-12 / FIPS 201 solution to provide certificate validation and contactless ANSI378 template decryption. This module operates on Windows client and server operating systems.
Card Reader Connector
The Card Reader Connector module interfaces with our HSPD-12 / FIPS 201 solution and is essential for providing the communication necessary to validate the information contained on the FIPS 201 card against the information provided on the HSPD-12 / FIPS 201 solution. This module operates on Windows client and server operating systems.
Import\Export Connector
Import\Export connector is a middleware infrastructure for importing and exporting data from various identity management tools. This module operates on Windows client and server operating systems.
Mobile Variant
The Mobile Variant contains all the same technologies and services found on the PC solution, but operates on a portable handheld device.
